Review: Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream

Hi guys! I'm back to do my first makeup review on the precious mineral bb cream by Etude House.
Etude House offers 4 different shades ranging from 1,2,3,4. The colors are very limited like most other bb creams and it's recommended for people with lighter skin. I wish they would have a wider range of colors available for people with tanned skin like me.
     What the company promises
SPF30/PA++, Anti-Wrinkle & Whitening + Anti-Darkening
Precious Mineral BB Cream promotes silky complexion with pearl infused sheer coverage.
Contains adenosine and arbutin for anti-wrinkle & whitening efficacies. SPF for UV protection.

When you first applied this product, you can definitely see a white cast. Don't freak out though( this is because of the SPF), because it oxidizes after about 10 minutes. This bb cream gives me medium coverage which is heavier than the Skin 79 and lighter than missha (perfect for those who wants to hide imperfections without much caking on their face).
Swatches: not blended

Blended
The packaging is small and cute. It comes with a pump(which I love because it's hygienic), so you can easily dispense the product. Unfortunately, the pump is not very controllable, so you might get more products than desired.
#2 Sheer Glowing                 #3 Sheer Flawless

With Etude House #3 Sheer Flawless Skin

Au Natural

I've been trying this product for over 6 months now, and here's what I can tell you
Pros:
  • Perfect amount of coverage
  • Easy to blend
  • Long lasting
  • Affordable
  • Hygienic pump
  • SPF 30
Cons:
  • Limited colors
  • The pump is not controllable
  • Matte (people with dry skin should apply moisturizer beforehand)
  • Take a while to oxidize
  • Leaves a white cast at first
Conclusion: At first, I didn't like this product because it's too light for my skin, but this bb cream won me over after I gave it another try (used it in the winter). This product is great for those who want medium coverage( some acne scars and discoloration). I prefer this over the very popular Skin 79 (coverage-wise). If you have dry skin, be careful, because this might enlarge your pores and make them look more noticeable since it's matte (#3). I don't recommend Etude House bb cream for people with darker skin. Yes, I would repurchase this product.

Which one is right for me?
Oily skin                                                                  Dry skin
Use Etude House #3 sheer flawless skin         Use Etude House #2 sheer glowing skin
Darker color                                                            Lighter color

Ratings: 3.8/5   ♥♥♥♥

I totally know what you mean
I feel like they're too light for my skin :(

love it! but yes, they were too light for me too, and they are sparkling!! not too fit when i use it to campus or just hangout.

I like your review, very through in detail.
I find BB cream a bit too sheer in terms of coverage for myself, probably I have darker skin then. I really just like how it incorporates sunscreen!

The US is starting to offer more BB cream options but since I have combo skin it's a bit too heavy for me.

The bb cream looks really nice on you! I think 4 shades is actually really good for a bb cream - most seem to only come in 1 or 2 shades :/

Haven't tried this yet, but I think I'll add it to my shopping list!

Ya number 2 is sparkly and number 3 is not :)

๑۩ﺴ PINKtistic ﺴ۩๑ said... [Reply]

You should probably try missha bb cream if you want more coverage!

The sheer bb cream looks very good on you!!! I tried the etude bb cream sample before but I find it a little bit too oily for my skin type. Skin 79 on the other hand is very dull in coloration :/
